Ave des Huguonots

Fresnaye

Project Details

PROJECT NAME: Ave des Hugueonots
LOCATION: Fresnaye

Team:
John Fraser Frame-Tolmie (architectural designer, Framework Design), Neill Marsilio (contractor, Phase Three Development Company)

Key suppliers:
RAW steel, Florstore (finishes)

Project Brief

The brief called for a New York style conservatory to extend over an enormous balcony, increasing the internal entertainment and dining space. For privacy, a mechanical sculptural metal screen was engineered, directing views from the entrance over the city and ocean.

“Phase Three was able to successfully renovate and update our home while still paying homage to it’s beautiful old French style design that we first fell in love with.”

Inspiration

The inspiration came from contrasting natural and steel elements while still taking ques from the original old French design by carrying the timber floors through the home and adding new French style balustrades.

Challenges

Some challenges we faced were adding air conditioning into the existing roof void and reinstating the nonfunctional fire place in the living room.
